I can just imagine Peter busy with his fishing nets and the next moment a complete stranger asks him to follow him. Peter just left everything without any questions. Peter followed without knowing where this stranger is going. Peter left his job, his family, friends and his own comforts on the call of a stranger.
The question “come and follow me” is still asked by Jesus today. The call to leave everything behind and walk the journey with Jesus. This call comes at a cost to us and many times it is to hard for us to follow. The call to the lost, the abandoned, the orphaned and the widowed is echoed in our hearts everyday. Jesus will continue to call until every knee bows to worship His Father.
Will you answer the call and lay down your life so that others may live?
